I love the coastline anywhere in the world. The ocean always always called me as far back as I can remember. I have always felt like a mermaid at heart or maybe just a fish, but definitely a woman who loves the water and needs, longs, desires to be near it. My love, Dennis, and I had always wanted to move to the coast in Southern California. We were willing to take the crappiest of spots to get that amazing ocean view, smell, and sound. Just a bare bit of land that would afford us the tiniest of homes if need be. Alas, it was not meant to be as the prices kept soaring and even just a bit of land on the coast in California could cost as much as $600,000. One of my love’s dear friends moved to the Bay Area on the Oregon Coast (Coos Bay/North Bend) and had been posting the amazing photos of the dunes, the ocean, and the forest. One day we were looking at those photos and I exclaimed that we should move to the Oregon Coast! Dennis was a bit concerned about the “how” of it all but was eager to discuss it. Having never been to Oregon, himself, he also wasn’t sure if he’d love it. I know him well and I just knew that he’d never want to leave – he had a feeling that I was correct.
The Oregon Coastline is unlike any other in the US with dunes stretching for miles along the shore, little forests and lakes set within the dunes, along with the traditional sandy and/or rocky beaches. It’s a dreamy place to spend some time and even dreamier to live in!
